How this is run:

Tipple & Topple - Train The Trainer
Statistics show alcohol contributes to 80% of falls, yet the stigma associated with its use among older adults often hinders open discussions. Tipple and Topple is a programme addressing this issue.

What we cover:
This workshop provides staff with both the knowledge and resources to support the education of older adults in relation to alcohol use. The cornerstone of tipple and topple is a series of ten short videos specially designed for older adults that helps to explain why drinking can be increasingly hazardous to health as we age. Our workshop facilitators will assist you to consider how best to integrate Tipple and Topple into your service, where possible we suggest integrating the Tipple and Topple series into fall prevention programmes to help normalise alcohol conversations. Tipple and Topple is a motivational enhancement intervention, prompting older adults to reflect on their alcohol choices. The workshop aims to equip staff in falls prevention programs and care plan development with the skills to effectively incorporate and deliver the Tipple and Topple intervention.
How this is run:
Suitable for all care support staff, including registered, allied and health professionals working with older adults in a community, private or public setting. This workshop is approximately 2.5 hours in length and is delivered by our facilitators specialise in working with older adults.
